The boot is the minimum forced stake each player puts into the pot before cards are dealt. It sets the base value of the round and scales the minimum call amount throughout the hand.

A seen player has looked at their cards; a blind player has not. Blind players pay half the current stake to call, which gives them a cost advantage but no information about their hand strength.

A side show lets two seen players compare cards privately. The player with the weaker hand must fold. It removes one opponent without forcing a full showdown and is only available between consecutive seen players.

A trail, also called three of a kind, is three cards of the same rank. It sits at the top of the Teen Patti hand rankings, above a pure sequence, and beats every other combination at showdown.

Chaal is the call action — matching the current stake to stay in the round. The amount a seen player pays for chaal is double what a blind player pays at the same point in the hand.

A pure sequence, sometimes called a straight flush, is three consecutive cards of the same suit. It ranks second overall and beats a normal sequence, three of a kind in lower-rank sets, and all pairs.
